expanding to new destinations. In
its tenth year, AMW inaugurates its innovative
drawing and painting program, ‘IN VIAGGIO,’ on
the intriguing island of ISCHIA. Situated
in the Bay of Naples, Ischia is known for its
rich Greek origins as well as its ancient
thermal waters.
We
are offering intensive week of drawing/painting/multi-media,
from
August 23 - 30, 2003.

As in
our other programs, we engage both the beginner
and the more experienced artist. Mornings
will be spent working from
the charming
Miramontemare Hotel or in superb outdoor locations … among
cobbled streets, shaded piazzas, and stunning
Mediterranean promontories. Afternoons will
be available for island excursions
and partaking of the lovely island spas.
The
price of the (US) $1,550.00 one-week workshop
includes:
- seven nights at the Hotel Miramontemare
- daily breakfast and lunch
- five hours of instruction each day
- all materials
- transportation to on-location sites
- critiques and our farewell dinner festa
Optional for those interested, we offer a morning
session of preparation for our visual work by using breath,
sound, sensing, and fluid movement
The workshop will be
conducted by Patricia Antonucci and Barbara
Schaefer. We are two New York-based artists
who have lived and worked extensively
in Italy, joining our creative forces to extend
to you a week of exciting and energizing approaches.
